Pro tip: Don't trust the cheap O2 sensor from that big online auto parts marketplace

I put one on a customer's Civic last month and the check engine light came back in two days, costing me an extra hour of labor to swap it again. Anyone have a go-to brand for sensors that actually lasts?

Man, I feel your pain on this one. That's the worst feeling when you do a job right and then have to redo it because the part didn't hold up. In my experience those super cheap sensors are almost always a gamble that doesn't pay off. I've had similar issues with a customer's car where we went through two of them before learning our lesson. It's honestly frustrating how much time and money gets wasted on parts that should just work out of the box. Your mileage may vary but I really think the extra cost is worth it for the peace of mind alone.

Why does cheap always mean junk now?

Honestly, because they know people will buy it anyway. Tbh it's just planned obsolescence.
