Pro tip: started labeling every drain plug with a paint pen and comebacks dropped way down
Three months ago I had two cars in one week come back with leaks because I grabbed the wrong crush washer on a drain plug. I bought a $4 paint pen from the parts store and started marking the plug size right on the pan next to it. Since then, zero mix ups on our oil changes, even with the young guys doing them. It sounds dumb but when you've got 30 cars a day rolling through in Fort Worth, that little mark saves you. Anybody else got a cheap trick like that for keeping drain plugs and washers matched up?
