Rant: That old guy who said torque specs on lug nuts dont matter

Had a veteran shop owner tell me just tighten em till they feel snug and itll be fine. Next day a wheel came loose on a customer going down I-95 at 60 mph.

You really think the wheel guy story proves we need to follow every torque spec to the letter? I've been slapping wheels on for years with just a good feel and never had one come off.

Yeah but just because you got lucky doesn't mean the next guy will. That spec exists for a reason.
