That customer at my shop in Dayton kept insisting his 'check engine' light was just a loose gas cap after I showed him the $1,200 estimate for his catalytic converter.
He argued with me for twenty minutes, quoting some random blog he read, and I just had to walk away before I said something I'd regret.

Oh man, I feel called out. I once tried to tell a mechanic my car just needed more blinker fluid. I mean, I saw a video about it. He just stared at me for a solid minute.
