That 'easy' alternator job on a 2014 Fiesta turned into a 12-hour nightmare.

Everyone says they're simple, but the bracket design meant dropping the subframe just to get the old one out. Has anyone found a decent shortcut, or is it always a full day's work?

Easy" jobs always take me three times as long.

Know exactly what you mean, but it's not really about the job being easy. It's because we don't respect simple tasks. We put them off, rush through them, and make dumb mistakes that cost more time to fix. The mental switch from "this is boring" to "let's just get it done right" is the hardest part.
