Had to pick between a factory pinout diagram and a multimeter trace on a 737 APU issue
Chose to trust my Fluke 87 over the manual on a 737-800 APU start fault near DFW last Tuesday, cleared the code with a bad crimp I found myself, but now the lead tech says I wasted 45 minutes and should've just followed the book, which side are you on?

That's a tough call but I'm with you. If the meter shows something different than the manual, that wire or connection is lying to you and the book can't see that.

Trusted my Fluke over a wiring diagram on a 787 bleed leak issue last year and found a pinched wire the manual never showed. The book tells you what should be there, but a meter tells you what is there. Sounds like you saved the team more time in the long run by catching that bad crimp before it caused a repeat snag.
