I dropped $300 on a thermal camera for my phone and it actually paid off this week

Borrowed one last winter to hunt down a draft making my heating bill crazy. Ended up finding a whole section of weather stripping on the back door that had totally failed. Sealed it up with some foam tape and the room stopped feeling like a freezer.

What kind of stuff did you find with it? I borrowed a friend's FLIR once to check for drafts in my old apartment. Found a cold spot near the window that turned out to be a gap in the insulation I never would have noticed.

Hey victor101, that's actually a thermal camera, not FLIR which is just one brand. Still cool you found that insulation gap though.
