I finally get why some techs hate digital wiring diagrams after talking to a 30-year vet

Had a coffee break with Jerry, an old-school guy who's been doing this since the 80s, and he told me his biggest headache is when digital schematics don't match the actual plane. He showed me a case from last year where a 737 had a wire bundle color code mismatch between the PDF and the real harness took him 4 hours to trace. It made me realize I was way too reliant on my tablet and should double-check the physical markings first. Anyone else run into this where the digital maps are straight up wrong?

Honestly, I read something from a mechanic a while back who said the same thing. He found out the hard way that a digital diagram showed a green and white wire for a critical sensor, but the actual plane had that wire swapped to blue and yellow. He said he wasted half a shift chasing a ghost because he trusted the tablet first. That story stuck with me. Ngl, since then I always check the physical harness labeling before I even pull up the PDF. It's like Jerry said, the digital stuff is a tool, but it can definitely steer you wrong if the data was entered by someone having a bad day.
