Just realized I wasted $75 on a 'universal' crimp tool that mangled every connector on a King Air job.

That "universal" label is usually a red flag for cheap tools. They try to do everything and end up doing nothing well. You really need the specific tool for the connector brand you're working with.

But come on, how bad can they really be for a quick home fix? Not everyone is a pro doing this every day. Sometimes you just need the thing to work once and cheap gets the job done. Spending a ton on a tool you'll use one time seems like a bigger waste.
