Just realized I've calibrated over 500 VHF comm units in my career

I was updating my logbook for a recent job on a King Air in Wichita and the total just jumped out at me. It's not the flashy stuff, but that's a lot of squelch checks and power level verifications. Anyone else hit a random number that made you stop and think about all the routine work?

Five hundred of those things. I bet you could do a perfect squelch check in your sleep by now, one hand on the tester and the other reaching for more coffee. That's a whole lot of listening to static and hoping the pilot doesn't key up while you're mid-tone. I'd start dreaming about modulation levels.

The static is actually pretty relaxing after the first hundred.
