That safety wire twist trick from the Tulsa hangar saved me 2 hours on a fuel panel
Last week I was doing a fuel quantity harness repair on a King Air and kept breaking safety wire on the canon plugs because I was twisting it too tight by hand. An old timer at the Tulsa hangar showed me to back off a quarter turn after the initial twist and the wire just sits flat without cracking, knocked out the whole panel in 40 minutes instead of the usual half day. Has anyone else picked up weird little tricks like that from the vets, or am I just late to the party?
