The 60,000 hour number for a 737 NG airframe hit me harder than I expected
I was flipping through a Boeing maintenance manual at the hangar in Spokane and saw that an NG airframe is rated for roughly 60,000 flight hours before heavy structural checks, which sounds huge until you do the math on a busy short haul jet. Back when I started on older 737 classics, that number felt like forever, but these days with 6 or 7 legs a day it sneaks up on you. Anybody here keep a rough count on airframe hours versus calendar time for the planes on your ramp?
