Tracing a new harness in a 737 took me twice as long as the old way

I used to just pull new wire bundles by eye, routing them along the same paths I memorized over 12 years in the hangar. Last month, we got a job on a 737-800 that needed a fresh altimeter feed, and the print showed a completely different route through the aft electronics bay. I spent almost 4 hours tracing the new path, pulling the old bundle out, and re-securing it with new clamps. The old method was faster because I knew every tie wrap point and bend radius by heart, but the new routing actually gives better clearance near the hydraulic lines. It felt like learning the airframe all over again, and I kept second-guessing the lengths before I cut anything. Does anyone else find that updated prints on older frames make you slower on the first attempt, or is that just me?
