Shoutout to the ranger who finally found my lost map case near the PCT junction
Spent 4 hours backtracking over 8 miles of trail before a ranger spotted it in a bush. Anyone else have a simple piece of gear cause a major delay?

Ever think maybe the real problem is carrying too much stuff? A map case seems like extra weight that just gives you one more thing to lose. Maybe going simpler would save you the hassle.

Hey @hernandez.brooke, a map case isn't really extra stuff if your paper map gets soaked and ruined. It's more like saving the one thing you actually need. What do you use to keep a map dry?
