The PCT stretch near Kennedy Meadows looked totally different after 6 years
I hiked that section in 2018 and again this spring. The old burn scar grew back so thick with manzanita it changed the trail's whole feel, and the creek crossing shifted about 30 yards downstream. Anyone else notice big terrain changes when they redo a route they know well?

Huh, that's funny because I actually had the opposite reaction when I went back to that stretch last fall. The manzanita thicket you're talking about, I feel like it got sparser, not denser, and the trail felt more open than I remembered from 2015. And the creek crossing, yeah it moved, but I found the new spot way easier to hop across, the old one was always a wet boots situation for me. Maybe we hit it at different times of year or something, since burn regrowth is patchy as hell. Not saying you're wrong, just that my memory of it is totally flipped from yours.
