Am I the only one who had an awkward run-in over a misplaced garden hose?
Borrowing backyard stuff without asking: friendly or rude? I had a weird moment with a neighbor.

70% in a forum thread called it straight-up theft.

Why call it theft when it's just being neighborly? Sharing tools without a big fuss builds a better community. Getting worked up over a hose makes things weird for no good reason.

Borrowing stuff crosses a line when it's not agreed on first. It's not about the hose, it's about respecting someone else's property. The_christopher has a point about community, but that needs clear rules everyone knows. Taking things without asking just creates bad feelings and mistrust. Calling it theft might sound strong, but it's the right word when someone uses your things without permission.
