Got a $40 outdoor pizza oven from a garage sale, worked better than my $300 one

Last Saturday I drove past a garage sale on Elm Street and saw this beat up pizza oven sitting there for $40. The guy said it was his son's and they never used it. I bought it on a whim, figured I'd lose the cash if it was junk. Got it home, cleaned it up, and fired it up that night. The crust came out perfectly crispy in 90 seconds, way better than my fancy $300 model from last year. Anyone else find cheap backyard gear that outperformed the expensive stuff?

Man that's awesome, garage sale finds are the best sometimes (I swear they put a curse on expensive gear). I grabbed a rusted Weber kettle for $20 at a moving sale, threw in some new grates for $10, and it cooks burgers better than the gas grill my neighbor spent $500 on. Funny how the cheap stuff just works when you least expect it.

Last year I found a beat up camping stove at a flea market for $8. The thing had rust on the legs and the knobs were sticky. I figured what the hell. Cleaned it with some vinegar and a wire brush. That little burner boils water faster than my fancy induction cooktop. Used it last weekend for a backyard chili cook off and won second place.
