Hit 50 pounds of tomatoes from 4 plants this summer and I'm shook

I planted 4 Roma tomato plants in my backyard back in May, just for fun. I didn't expect much since it's my third year gardening. But I started counting after I canned my first batch. By mid-August I had already picked 30 pounds. Yesterday I hit 50 pounds exactly and I still have green ones on the vines. I've been giving bags to neighbors and my mom lol. Has anyone else had a single variety just explode like that for no clear reason?

Roma tomatoes are beasts when they get going. I planted 6 Celebrity plants one year and got almost 70 pounds off them. No special tricks, just consistent water and some compost mixed in the soil at planting time. The key for me was pruning the suckers early and keeping them supported with cages so air could flow. Your 50 pounds from 4 plants is solid work though, Romas are known for heavy yields once they settle in. The green ones left will probably push you closer to 60 if you get a good stretch of weather. Tomato plants can really surprise you when conditions line up right.

Almost 70 pounds off 6 Celebrity plants" - man, that makes me feel like my garden is just doing a participation trophy. I've had seasons where my poor plants produced just enough for one decent caprese salad before tapping out. I always forget to prune the suckers though. Last year I got lazy and let them go wild. Ended up with a tangled jungle of leaves and maybe 5 cherry tomatoes total. The plants were so dense a squirrel could've gotten lost in there. I swear they were laughing at me.
