I used to think string lights were just for Christmas, but trying them over my patio changed the whole feel of my yard.

Yeah, that "changed the whole feel" thing is so true. My buddy did the same thing last summer with some cheap cafe lights from the hardware store. He strung them across his tiny balcony and it went from a concrete slab to this cozy spot where we'd all end up hanging out after dark.

Oh man, that reminds me of my friend's disaster. She tried to charge like five bucks for her birthday BBQ to "cover the meat" and half the guests just brought a bag of chips instead. Totally killed the vibe.
