Just visited a neighbor's backyard and saw they put their fire pit right under a low-hanging oak branch
I was over there for a cookout last Saturday and asked if they ever worried about sparks catching the leaves, and they just shrugged like it never crossed their mind, so has anyone else had to bite their tongue about a neighbor's dangerous setup?

Man, I would have had a hard time keeping quiet. That setup is a wildfire waiting to happen, especially with dry leaves. I had a buddy who did the same thing and we spent one whole summer watching that branch get more and more brown from the heat. He finally moved it after a spark landed in his wife's flower bed and almost caught the mulch on fire. Your neighbor needs to trim that branch back at least 10 feet from the fire pit, or better yet, move the whole thing to open ground. You might try bringing it up casually like "hey, I was thinking about fire safety and remembered your setup" instead of calling it out directly.

Ngl, do you think the neighbor even knows it's a problem or is he one of those guys who just doesn't care until something actually catches fire?
