My neighbor pointed at my yard and asked why I still rake leaves by hand
Was out back on Saturday raking the last of the maple leaves when my neighbor Dale leaned over the fence and asked why I don't just mulch them with the mower like he does. Told him my dad made me rake every fall growing up in Ohio, and it never once crossed my mind to stop. Dale said he hasn't bagged a leaf since 2019 and his beds look better than ever, which honestly annoyed me because he's right. Now I'm staring at three yard bags wondering if I've been making extra work for myself for 30 years. Anyone here made the switch to mulching, and did your grass actually come back fine in spring?
