My neighbor's rooster started a 3-day backyard feud last spring

Last May I'm out back grilling some burgers and my neighbor's new pet rooster hops the fence and starts pecking at my tomato plants. I shoo it away and it squawks so loud my dog starts howling like a fire truck. Next morning that thing is on my patio table at 6 AM crowing at my sliding glass door. Tried to catch it three times but it outran me every time like a tiny feathered ninja. Finally called animal control and they said there's no law against roosters in our county so I just built a taller fence. Cost me $200 for materials and a whole Saturday but now my tomatoes and my sleep schedule are safe. Anyone else deal with a crazy neighbor's animal invading their yard?

Used to think chickens were harmless but that rooster changed my mind quick.

Yeah "changed my mind quick" is exactly how it went for me too. I always figured chickens were just dumb birds that peck at stuff, but then I saw a rooster square up to a dog three times his size over a hen. That was the moment I realized they've got way more fight in them than people give them credit for.
