Solar lights I bought on Amazon actually worked after 3 months outside

I was totally skeptical of those little solar pathway lights. Figured they'd be dim and stop working after a week. But my wife bought a 12 pack from some no-name brand last spring and they're still going strong out in our Minneapolis yard. They actually put out enough light to see the walkway at night. Has anyone else been surprised by cheap solar stuff holding up longer than expected?

Oh man my friend had the exact SAME solar lights survive a whole Wisconsin winter!

Put mine out last November and they're still going strong. I made sure to clear the snow off the panels after every storm, that's the trick. Also angled them a bit more south than the instructions said, seemed to help catch whatever weak winter sun we get up here. They dim a little on the really cloudy weeks but they never fully died on me.
