String lights won me over after one evening outside
I thought string lights were only for special events. At a friend's cookout, they had lights on their patio. The yard felt warm and we stayed out late. I saw how lights make a yard feel like home. I bought solar lights for my deck. Now I enjoy my backyard every night. That cookout changed my mind completely.

Yeah, "changed my mind completely" is exactly how I felt. I used to see those lights as just extra holiday stuff. But after seeing a neighbor's setup, I get it now. It's like what ray816 asked, can lights really make that big a difference? Turns out they totally do, it's not about the light itself but the whole feeling it gives a place.

Went from never using my deck to hanging out there every single night. They completely transform the mood from empty space to a cozy spot. Honestly surprised how much it changed my routine.
