The fence guy in Dayton told me my post holes were too shallow and he was right
I set 14 posts at 18 inches because that's what my dad always did, and a contractor at the Dayton build site laughed and said our clay soil needs at least 30 inches or the frost will push them up. He was right, two of mine heaved after one winter. Anybody here use a different depth for clay, or do you just go deeper and add gravel?
