Tried cedar chips vs rubber mulch for the flower beds and the difference is huge.

After a heavy rain last week the cedar chips floated everywhere and made a mess, but the rubber mulch stayed put and didn't attract a single termite like the wood did, so now I'm switching the whole yard over, has anyone else made the swap and noticed a difference with bugs?

Yeah that thing about the cedar floating is rough. My buddy Mark tried it last summer and after one storm his whole front walkway was covered in soggy cedar bits like a wet forest floor. He switched to rubber and said it stayed put even when the sprinklers hit it for hours straight. Haven't heard him mention bugs either since the swap.

Hold on @the_kevin, cedar usually doesn't float. Your buddy probably had cypress or pine.
