Wasted $150 on a backyard tiki torch set that fell apart in two months

Grabbed one of those bamboo tiki torch sets from a big box store back in June thinking it would look great for summer BBQs. The wind blew the first one over within a week, snapped the base. The others started rotting where the fuel line sits after some rain. By August every single one was junk. Anyone else have better luck with metal torches or should I just skip the whole idea?

Swapped to metal torches last year and theyre still going strong with zero rust. @leep89 saved me the headache with that tip so definitely go metal if you want them to last more than one season.

My friend Mark bought a set of those metal ones from a home improvement store two years ago and theyre still sitting in his yard looking fine. He leaves them out in the rain all the time and the only thing that rusted was the little screw on the cap. I'd say just go metal and save yourself the hassle.
