I used to roll my eyes at people who watched The Room on purpose

A buddy convinced me to sit through it last winter (around 2am after a few beers) and I ended up quoting 'Youre tearing me apart Lisa' for a full week. It was so bad it circled back around to being legitimately entertaining. Has any other so-bad-it's-good movie actually surprised you like that?

Yeah I read somewhere that The Room actually started making more money on DVD after it became a cult thing than it did in theaters. People actually paid money to watch that trainwreck. Same thing happened with Birdemic I think, the one with the terrible CGI birds. I saw clips on YouTube and couldn't look away. The acting was so stiff it felt like they were reading off cue cards behind the camera. It's weird how something so broken can be more watchable than a lot of polished Hollywood movies.
