Is 'so bad it's good' actually just bad acting, or is it the script?

Ngl, I keep seeing people praise movies like Troll 2 for the over-the-top performances, but honestly I think the real magic is how the plot makes zero sense, like when the family somehow misses all the signs for 90 minutes. I've shown that flick to three different friends in Detroit and each one laughed at different spots, which makes me wonder if we're all just projecting our own fun onto a mess. So which is it, are we celebrating the actors or the writers who clearly gave up halfway through?

...okay hear me out, but Troll 2 would be boring with a good script. The actors are giving 100% to some of the dumbest lines ever written, and that's the whole point, like you can't have one without the other.
