Just crossed 50 bad movies watched this year and I'm not sure how to feel
Ngl I hit 52 movies that are objectively terrible but I had a blast watching each one. Did anyone else hit a weird milestone like this and realize they might be addicted to the worst cinema ever?

...and that's how I ended up watching "Sharknado 4" three times in one weekend, trying to figure out if it was actually genius or just a fever dream. 52 is impressive though. I'm sitting at 37 this year, and most of them are direct-to-video horror movies where the monster is clearly a guy in a cheap rubber suit. One had a bigfoot that looked like someone spray painted a dog costume. The best part is when you find that one gem so bad it loops back around to being amazing, you know? Like that scene where the acting is just so flat it makes you laugh harder than any comedy could.

There's an article I read last month from a film blog that called those direct-to-video horror movies "the last wild west of cinema" because nobody is watching what they do. It said some of them are made for under 50 grand and shot in like three days. That bigfoot costume you mentioned sounds exactly like something from a movie called "The Legend of Boggy Creek 2" that I saw once, where the monster had zippers showing on the back. The writer of that article claimed there are whole forums of people who only watch these cheap films to find the worst possible acting or special effects. I remember one guy on there saying he found a movie where the car crash scene was just two toy cars being pushed together off camera. I think there's something kind of pure about how bad these movies are, because nobody is trying to be good, they just want something watchable for Friday night.
