My buddy made me watch 'The Room' for the first time and I'm still confused

So last Friday, my friend Mike comes over with a DVD and says we have to watch this movie, it's a classic. He puts on 'The Room' and within ten minutes I'm looking at him like he's crazy. The acting is so bad it's almost good, the story makes zero sense, and there's a weird amount of football tossing in an alley. The best part was when a character just says 'I definitely have breast cancer' out of nowhere and it's never talked about again. We spent the whole two hours laughing and yelling at the screen, trying to figure out what was happening. It was honestly more fun than most good movies I've seen this year. Has anyone else had that experience where a movie is so bad it loops back around to being a great time?

Oh man, you just described the perfect way to watch it. You need a group, you need to be ready to yell at the screen, and you absolutely need to have the spoons ready for the famous spoon scene. That movie is a total mess but it's a shared experience. My friends and I still quote "You're tearing me apart, Lisa!" at each other for no reason. It's the best kind of bad movie because it's so sincere in its weirdness.

It's like how a terrible karaoke night can be more fun than a perfect concert.
