The third spoon picture in my living room is still crooked from when we lost it during that scene. We had to pause the movie for a solid ten minutes because nobody could breathe. The key is to watch it with people who have never seen it before, their confusion makes it better. It's a weirdly perfect group movie because the worse it gets, the more fun you have.

Read somewhere that the spoon pictures were just random decor the director already had in his apartment, so they kept filming them to fill space. Makes the whole thing even funnier knowing there was zero meaning behind it. That movie is a masterclass in accidental comedy because every single choice is baffling. You really do need that group energy to fully appreciate how unhinged it is. Sharing that confused laughter is the best part.

Was it the first time your friend had seen it too? I had a similar thing happen with a different movie, that old Nic Cage one about bees. The whole thing is so serious but it's just Cage yelling about bees, and my buddy who picked it just kept sinking lower into his chair as we all lost it. Those bad movies hit different when you're all in on the joke together, it's like sharing a weird secret.
