My sister told me 'The Room' is just a sad drama, and I had to explain the joy of watching a bad movie with friends.
We watched it last night, and her horrified laughter during the plastic spoon scene made me realize that sharing a truly terrible film is a specific kind of bonding that a 'good' movie can't replicate, so what's your go-to for a group watch that's so bad it's good?

Wait, she thought it was a serious drama? That's amazing. My pick is Birdemic, because the attack scenes with the cartoon birds are just unreal. It's the perfect mix of boring and totally insane.

Oh man, this happens all the time now. We see a trailer or a poster and we fill in the gaps with what we expect. It's like our brains can't even process something being that sincerely bad, so we assume it must be a joke or art. Birdemic is the perfect example, because you watch those first forty minutes of nothing and think, "Okay, the tone is just very subtle." Then the birds show up.

My buddy rented Troll 2 for movie night thinking it was a horror film. We still give him grief about that green goo.
