Overheard a couple at the video store trash-talking 'The Room' and I had to bite my tongue

I was in line at the rental place on Elm Street yesterday and these two people were going on about how 'The Room' is just bad, not fun. One said, "It's not even worth the laugh." But that's the whole point. The weird line readings, the plastic spoons, the rooftop football... it's a shared experience. You watch it with friends and yell at the screen. Has anyone else had to defend a so-bad-it's-good movie like that?

My friend and I saw "Troll 2" in a packed theater and the crowd made it amazing.

Reminds me of when I saw "The Room" at a midnight show, @david_hayes. The whole place was yelling lines and throwing plastic spoons. That kind of crowd energy turns a bad movie into a core memory.

Crowd energy really does change everything, I've seen it turn a mess into something unforgettable. @david_hayes, I bet Troll 2 with the right room would be a blast - those cheesy lines hit different when everyone's laughing together. Take that energy away and you're just stuck watching a bad movie alone, which is a totally different experience.
