Paid $30 for a 'so bad it's good' DVD box set and it was a total ripoff

I grabbed this 50-movie sci-fi collection from a discount bin last Saturday for $30, thinking it'd be hilarious garbage. But every film was so boring and poorly lit that I couldn't even laugh at them. Not one single fun bad moment, just gray nothingness for 12 hours straight. Has anyone else bought one of those bulk sets and actually found a gem in there?

Those bulk sets are almost always a scam. The trick is they cram in public domain movies that look like they were shot in some guy's basement with a single lightbulb. I've learned to check the runtime on the back cover before buying. If most of the movies are under 70 minutes, they're just filler. Best bet is to look for the "Mill Creek" or "Retro" brand sets, they actually put some effort into curation. Your best find from that pile is probably gonna be a coaster.
