PSA: Our cheesy monster movie nights beat any fancy film for family time

When I was a kid, my dad would rent the worst monster movies from the video store every weekend. We all knew they were bad, but we'd laugh and yell at the screen together. Now, with everyone spread out, I miss those simple, silly nights. It showed me that a fun time with family doesn't need a good movie, just a shared laugh. Your mileage may vary, but for us, those films were the best.

@martin.tyler, maybe your family needs to embrace the cheese.

Those cheesy nights are hard to beat, even if @martin.tyler's family didn't click with the old ones.

My family tried "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" for movie night last week. The dated effects and slow plot just left everyone checking the time. A solid, well-made film holds our attention and creates better memories together.
