Shoutout to watching Birdemic for the first time and realizing I was the problem

I used to watch bad movies trying to find things to make fun of them for, like pointing out bad acting or effects. Then a buddy put on Birdemic and I spent the first 20 minutes being annoyed at how boring it was. It hit me that I was approaching it wrong, you gotta just let the movie wash over you and enjoy the trainwreck. Has anyone else had that moment where you realized you were overthinking a bad movie?

@oliver_fisher basically described my life, now I just embrace the dumpster fire.

Man that's exactly what happened to me with The Room. I went in ready to be a critic and just ended up frustrated because I was trying to analyze it instead of just letting it happen. Once I stopped trying to find things wrong and just accepted that everything was wrong, it became the most fun movie night ever. Birdemic is a perfect example of that too, you really gotta just let the bad CGI eagles and weird acting wash over you. Now I approach any bad movie like I'm watching a strange fever dream and it makes everything so much better.
