Oh man, that happened to me with this old sci-fi movie called Space Camp from like 1986. I spent two whole weekends trying to track it down because I only remembered a scene where a kid gets stuck in a simulator. Turns out I kept searching for "Space Academy" which was the TV show, not the movie. Finally found it when my cousin mentioned Lea Thompson was in it and I went through her whole filmography on IMDb one night. The Soldier one is rough though because Kurt Russell’s been in so many movies it could be anything.

Haha yep that's always how it goes. You remember one weird specific detail and then spend way too long digging through IMDb at 2AM. Space Camp is a good one though at least you found it eventually. The Kurt Russell Soldier thing would drive me nuts too because that guy was in everything in the 80s and 90s. Probably ends up being some B-movie he did for a paycheck that nobody remembers. Or it could just be a fever dream you had after eating too much pizza.
