The day I watched Samurai Cop twice in one sitting and changed my whole take on it
I found this DVD at a flea market in Fresno for 3 bucks last Saturday. I knew it was bad, everyone says so, but I never really sat with it. First watch I was laughing at the hair and the car chase that clearly has a stunt double in a blonde wig. Then I rewatched it right after, mostly because my friend dared me, and I started noticing how the movie almost works if you squint. The villain is genuinely menacing for like 2 scenes. The dialogue has this weird sincerity that feels accidental but also kind of intentional. So which side are you on? Is Samurai Cop a pure laugh-at-it disaster, or is there some hidden craft in there that makes it more interesting than just a joke? I'm honestly torn and want to hear how other people watch it.

That "weird sincerity" is just bad acting, the movie is pure comedy.
