Told my buddy that The Room is actually a brilliant film

He laughed for 10 minutes straight but then I pointed out how every single scene serves no purpose and that's exactly why it works as a pure time capsule of human failure, and now he's texting me clips at 2am asking if I'm right.

Man I accidentally convinced my roommate that Tommy Wiseau is a method actor and now he walks around the apartment saying "you are tearing me apart Lisa" in the mirror.

Hold up hold up hold up. Wait a second. Tommy Wiseau as a method actor? That's actually genius if you think about it. Method acting is about being so committed to the role that reality bends around you. Tommy clearly believed he was a cool, mysterious, successful American dude from New Orleans. He didn't break character once during the entire movie. The hair, the accent, the weird pauses. That's not bad acting. That's a man who fully convinced himself he's someone he's not. Your roommate might be onto something deeper than you think.
