Unpopular take: The Room is not that fun to watch and I stopped forcing myself to enjoy it

I used to watch The Room every couple months with friends and laugh at the weird scenes. But after seeing it about 5 times over 2 years, I started getting annoyed instead of entertained. The pacing drags and Tommy Wiseau's awkward delivery stops being funny once you already know every line. I switched to watching Miami Connection instead, which has the same so-bad-it's-good energy but with actual kung fu and a crazy plot. That movie has 80s hair metal songs and a fight scene where a dude gets his arm ripped off. The Room just feels like a slow drag now, and I'd rather watch something where the badness comes from trying too hard instead of just being a mess. Anyone else feel like a bad movie can lose its charm after too many viewings?

wait do you actually think Miami Connection is better than The Room? i always figured the whole point of The Room was just how unhinged and confusing it is, not really something you watch for enjoyment. but you know what, you might be onto something. i forced myself to sit through it a few times and honestly i started getting bored too, like the charm wore off real fast. Miami Connection sounds way more fun with the 80s music and crazy fights, maybe i should switch it up instead of rewatching the same awkward scenes.

Geez, it's just a movie, not a life commitment you have to defend.
