Burnt my first batch of croissants this morning and learned a lesson

I was at my kitchen counter at 5 AM, ready to bake 24 croissants for a local coffee shop order. Got distracted answering a text and left them in the oven an extra 4 minutes at 375. They came out dark brown on the bottoms, totally ruined the batch. Had to scrap them and start over, which cost me 3 hours and $12 in butter. Anyone else have a timer fail that threw off your whole day?

Wait wait wait, FOUR extra minutes at 375? That's all it took to ruin 24 croissants? I thought you were gonna say you forgot them for like fifteen minutes or something. Four minutes is absolutely brutal, especially at that price point. I can feel that pain right through the screen. Man, that butter cost alone makes me wince.

totally feel you, I once burnt a batch of cookies in just two minutes over and it was devastating.
