Just wasted $50 on a fancy new bread scoring tool that broke on the first sourdough loaf

The lame snapped right in half because the blade was way too thin for my crusty dough. What do you guys use for scoring that actually holds up?

Honestly that's just user error, a good tool shouldn't break like that. Maybe you just got a bad one, the design itself is probably fine.

But how many bad ones are out there before it's a real problem? I've seen a bunch of people complain about the same thing. Seems like maybe the design isn't as fine as they say.
