I did the math on homemade vs storebought croissants and it's not even close

Right? Homemade is so much work but the payoff is crazy. Did a batch last weekend and the butter alone was like $8 but they came out of the oven all flaky and golden, better than any bakery ones Ive had. Plus you can control how buttery they get, which is the whole point.

My buddy Tom spent like 4 hours making croissants from scratch and the butter cost him $12, but he said biting into that first one hot out of the oven was basically a religious experience.
