My best baking day in years was actually last Sunday out of the blue

I had this random Sunday where I decided to try a new sourdough recipe from a lady I follow on Instagram. First attempt came out with a perfect ear and crust, which never happens for me on try number one. Then I threw together a batch of chocolate chip cookies using browned butter for the first time and they spread just right. Everything I touched that day worked, no sticking no burning no collapsing. Has anyone else had a day where suddenly your oven just loves you?

Man, that sounds like a dream day. My oven and I have a very strained relationship where it decides to randomly burn the bottom of everything I bake for no reason. Last time I had a 'blessed' baking day I got so excited I dropped the whole cake pan on the floor right after it came out perfect. So now I just assume any good run is the universe setting me up for a dramatic fall later. Take this with a grain of salt but maybe your oven was just in a good mood or the humidity was right or something. Either way I'm happy for you but also a tiny bit jealous haha.

@diana829 get an oven thermometer, cheap fix for that burnt bottom problem.
