Used to throw all my cookie decorating supplies away after one use

I would toss piping bags and tips in the trash after making Christmas cookies, until I found out my neighbor in Seattle has been reusing the same set for 10 years. Now I just wash them by hand and save about $50 a year. Anyone else have a baking habit that took way too long to break?

Wash them right after using or the tips get clogged and become useless anyway.

Nah, I've had cheap tips crack on me mid-pipe.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean, $50 a year is like a couple of nice dinners out. @jesse290 has a point about the tips getting clogged, but even then you can just soak them in hot water for a few minutes and most of the gunk comes right off. I've been using the same cheap plastic tips for maybe 5 years now and they still work fine for basic frosting borders.
