Am I the only one who thinks clipper blades have gotten worse over the last 5 years?
I've been cutting hair for about 8 years now, started in a shop in Austin. Back then I could grab a set of Wahl or Andis blades off the shelf and they'd last me 6 months easy before needing a sharpen. Now it seems like every new blade I buy starts dragging or heating up after just a month or two. I picked up a new set last week and by the third head it was already pulling. Could be the steel quality went down, or maybe I'm just getting picky. But I've talked to a couple other barbers who say the same thing. Have you guys noticed your blades dulling faster these days too? Or is it just me and my technique?

Wahl changed their blade alloy around 2019. I learned to break in new blades on a practice head for about 10 cuts before they touch a client.

Nah, the alloy change was more like 2021. I still break em in on a mannequin first though.
