DAE get told to angle their shears less by an old barber and it fixed everything?
There's a guy named Sal who runs a two chair shop near me and he watched me cut for about 10 minutes a few months back. He said my scissors were sitting too flat against the hair and I was pushing the client's head down too far, so I was fighting the cut the entire time. I tried lifting the blade to about a 45 degree angle and let the guy sit up straight, and honestly the blend got smoother on the first pass. I was doing twice the work on the top and sides just to fix what I dragged out of shape. Sal said it took him six years to unlearn that habit, so I guess I got off easy. Anyone got a tip that sounds dumb but actually saves you time in the chair?
