Had the WORST day behind the chair last Saturday
I work at a shop in downtown Portland and last Saturday was a TOTAL disaster. First client showed up 20 minutes late and wanted a skin fade I did not have time for. Then my clipper blade fell off mid-cut on a kid who was already squirmy. I had 4 walk-ins back to back and my lunch was just a protein bar in the back. By the end of the day I messed up a taper on a regular and had to comp his cut. Has anyone else had a day that just snowballed like this?

That "sad protein bar" part hit me hard @the_susan. I feel like the universe picks one day every few months to test if we really want to be barbers. Last week I had a guy ask for a "modern crop" and then told me he meant a flat top from 1992.

Third client of the day last Tuesday told me he wanted "something creative" and then got mad when I gave him a mullet with a fade like he asked for. Three inches of clipper guard vanished into the ether around 2pm, still haven't found it. I ate my sad protein bar standing up in the break room while a walk-in kept poking their head in to ask if I was almost done. By 6pm I caught myself almost shaving off someone's entire eyebrow instead of their neckline. Sometimes you just gotta laugh and accept the universe decided you were having a bad day.
