Hit 500 regular customers in my chair and I'm still a bit stunned

I've been cutting hair out of a small shop in Wilmington for about 12 years now. Last week I was going through my booking app and noticed I had 498 people in my client list. By Friday afternoon I hit 500 after a walk-in came back for his second cut. It surprised me because I never set out to build a big following. I just try to give a clean cut, remember what each person likes, and be consistent with my schedule. Half of those folks came from word of mouth after I did a favor for a local real estate agent who sends me her new neighbors. Has anyone else hit a number like that and felt it was more than just a number?

Did you ever feel like that real estate connection was the real game changer?

Used to roll my eyes at barbers who talked about networking with local businesses, figured it was just a way to sound important. But seeing how that one real estate connection basically doubled your client list over time, yeah that changed my mind completely. I mean, it makes sense when you think about it, those agents are the first person new people in town talk to. Idk why I never saw how that kind of referral chain could build a whole business without you even trying. It's like you just have to be in the right spot once and the rest takes care of itself.
